Compellent Storage Replacement
Description
The current campus on-premise central storage is approaching 4 years old. The Compellent is seeing increasing disk failures due to 24/7 operation. Additionally, hardware coverage will be increasing to $90,000 per year, which is one third the cost of a new system.

Upgrade cost is $320,000 which includes 5 years of maintenance. Without the upgrade, maintenance would be $90,000 per year plus additional hardware.

Status Update
10/29/2018: The migration to our new storage hardware is complete. The old systems have been powered off.
10/18/2018: Successfully cutover to the new hardware. Remaining steps are to retire old hardware and propagate out the new server information (DNS cleanup).
09/06/2018: DR has been migrated but production moves were put on hold until after semester start.
07/11/2018: Preparing for the Compellent upgrade - upgraded current compellent firmware to prepare for the migration
