Inspiration Studio - Plan
DescriptionAugmented Reality / Virtual Reality – IITS is investigating opportunities to move forward with AR/VR/Immersive Technology. One of the production studios was taken offline for AY 18/19, however, there is one production studio available and is in heavy demand. During fall 2018, Academic Technology is working closely with faculty to conceptualize an innovation studio area for experimenting, developing, exploring AR/VR/Immersive and innovative technologies. The plans for this new space will be available later this fall 2018. These spaces give students hands-on and collaborative experiences that complement classroom instruction.

03/19/2019: Decision was made to use the existing studio walls as constructed.
01/08/2019: Met with stakeholders to finalize the plan.
11/26/2018: Drafted project plan is under review internally to IITS. Met with faculty from Physics and Chem. A proposed equipment list was shared with faculty from VR/AR CIG.
10/15/2018: In collaboration with the Kinesiology faculty, IITS visited the Gait Rehabilitation and Research Lab at Chapman University to see a demonstration of their current system.
09/28/2018: IITS is meeting with faculty throughout October to collect input from faculty on the innovation studio.
09/14/2018: Under this plan, Studio B will evolve into a multi-use facility with new capabilities to explore with Augmented and Virtual Reality equipment. We expect this idea will bring in additional opportunities for faculty
