Description
Continued development of a full featured App that would allow students to perform most common university tasks from their smart phone. Having one Campus App is convenient for students. When students are on the go, the App keeps them connected and productive.

Status Update
02/15/2021:
The Campus App will take on a new role in support of campus safety in Februrary. In support of on-campus Covid testing, students will use the App to scan in at the testing sites to verify completion and scan QR codes to record entry to classrooms/labs.
09/01/2020:
CSUSM has added a student daily health screening and QR code location scanning to the Campus App. These new features will be used to help CSUSM maintain a safe environment for those students coming to campus.
02/24/2020: Through a partnership between Instructional & Information Technology Services, Disability Support Services, and Facilities Development & Management, the campus community can now receive timely app notifications of the status of all campus elevators.
01/31/2020: IITS has recently completed changes that will allow students to stay logged in longer. For student who authenticate while using the Campus App, they will now stay logged in for up to 30 days, making access to various systems as simple as one tap.
09/13/2019: The App is continuing to see year-over-year growth with unique visitors (12,000) up 38% in the first two weeks of the term. Visits to the App home screen (298,000) are up 375%. A new Moodle design deployed improved LMS access & functionality.
09/05/2019: New for Fall 2019, CSUSM has added real-time parking lot space availability. Pulling from the campus' new lot metering system, the Campus App is connected to provided campus community members with information they need to easily find a parking space.
04/29/2019: Most popular sites for Fall 2018 are MyCSUSM/PeopleSoft with 186,774 views, then Cougar Courses at 279,851 views and the Message Center with 47,857 views.
04/04/2019: IMSC bi-annual progress report - Application statistics were summarized, reported App utilization increased especially for the Virtual ID feature. The Fall semester also saw expansion of the opt-in communication channels on campus.
03/29/2019: Students can now use the Virtual ID available on the Campus App as a convenient way to check-in to over 35 stations or centers on campus. As of Spring 2019, Students have viewed the Virtual ID almost 30,000 times and generated over 5,000 ID’s.
03/25/2019: Adoption has been high for the Campus App. Technology Spotlight - Staying Connected with the Campus App
02/18/2019: Added Wellness module which includes a link to make a Dr. appointment, information on how to get help, and find a fitness class.
01/09/2019: Met with Office of Communications to discuss ways to engage students in the app for Spring. Will focus on targeted communication, add a new Wellness module and setup meeting to encourage more opt-in channel notifications.
09/27/2018: Initiative status update/change to "Campus Priority" for FY 2018-19. Approved by Information Management Steering Committee (IMSC) on September 27, 2018.
08/20/2018: New look and feel. Featured events updated twice per month, digital ID, added opt-in channels (Campus Housing, Campus Recreation, Cougar Central, USU, Sustainability, Athletics), Parking Availability, Discounts modules, Link to Cougar Email
