eOneCard System
Description
Campus ID and retail system with integration to campus food services. System would be electronic/smartphone enabled (no physical card requirement), to make on-campus purchases, check-in at events/locations, provide ticketing, and support other ID based campus functions.
***As of May 1, 2020 project with Transact is on HOLD due to COVID-19. An interim option for providing online ID photo submission will be active for students on June 1, 2020.

Status Update
09/10/2020: The internally developed digital ID has helped 1,400 students get their ID this fall and supports a number of COVID related functions like daily screening, QR codes for location check-in, and the delivery of services. See https://www.csusm.edu/iits
06/01/2020: On June 1, 2020, IITS assumed responsibility for ID card operations. Students can submit their ID photo via the CSUSM website (campusid.csusm.edu) or the campus app. Video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7IG2ildKcU&feature=youtu.be
05/20/2020: Due to the current hold on the Transact project, IITS developed an internal system where students can submit their ID photo via a website or the campus app. The website will be at campusid.csusm.edu.
05/01/2020: As of May 1st, CSUSM & Transact agreed, that due to COVID-19 and budget uncertainties, the services to be performed pursuant to the Purchase Order shall be postponed. Agreement is now considered on hold.
02/27/2020: Project staff (IITS, SFS, C-Corp, & Sodexo) completed three days of detailed system setup and operational training with Sodexo. This step was the precursor to the installation and setup of the campus' production system.
02/07/2020: CSUSM, Sodexo, and Transact kick off meeting. Conduct project plan review and discussed implementation decisions. Key functional tasks include: ID functions, student accounts, and meal plans. Project on tract for May 2020 go-live.
01/15/2020: CSUSM and Transact have completed contracts and a Purchase Order has been issued on January 15th. Currently awaiting assignment of Transact Project Manager and setup of a kickoff meeting.
01/10/2020: CSUSM executive sponsors have reviewed and approved the final Scope of Work document and detailed purchase proposal. Documents are to be forwarded to Procurement for PO issuance. Formal project implementation kickoff meeting planned before end of month.
10/29/2019: IITS notified by VP Hoss to proceed with Option 2; the eOneCard and Meal Plan function. IITS and CSUSM Corp will engage partners and begin establishment of the project team and initiate procurement efforts.
09/13/2019: Agenda item and discussion at IMSC regarding an eOneCard strategy. Reviewed four (4) strategies for a unified CSUSM campus identity and meal card services. Discussed optional capabilities to support student classroom attendance and door access.
06/10/2019: Work with CSUSM Corp and vendor suspended. Information has been gathered and shared with the decision makers.
04/04/2019: IMSC bi-annual progress report - Discussions are underway and additional planning is needed in order to identify how to meet the vendor deployment specifications.
03/15/2019: Initial discussion have begun as IITS has partnered with CSUSM Corporation, campus financial services, and on-campus retail service providers.
01/28/2019: Looking at eOneCard technology to allow students to make purchases, check-in, and attend events with a simple tap of the phone.
09/27/2018: Initiative status update/change to "Campus Priority" for FY 2018-19. Approved by Information Management Steering Committee (IMSC) on September 27, 2018.
