Windows 7 End of Life
Description
Microsoft is ending support for Windows 7 as of January 14, 2020. Microsoft will no longer provide security updates for PC's running Windows 7. Computers that continue to run Windows 7 will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses. IITS will be upgrading and retrofitting existing operating systems and this must be completed by January.
Support materials are available from Microsoft as well as consultations from IITS.

Status Update
01/01/2020: As the windows end of life date approaches, IITS continues to conduct upgrades of production windows 7 devices. Efforts have prioritized individuals who may handle level 1 data and faculty units. Information security has been advised of project status.
10/21/2019: 325 systems remain on Windows 7. Windows 7 users are being notified by email and requested to schedule an appointment before November 1st in order to complete this maintenance before January 2020.
10/01/2019: A campus notification has been drafted and reviewed and will be sent to the campus to advise of the end of Microsoft support of Windows 7.
