Video Hosting Migration (MediaSite to MS Stream)
Description
For budgetary reasons, CSUSM will be ending support for MediaSite in summer 2021 and moving video storage to Microsoft Stream. Video content may be uploaded to MediaSite through May 2021. IITS will assist departments and faculty/staff in moving their video content when the new platform is ready in mid-2021. IITS is awaiting the release of an updated version of the platform prior to migrating content. Status Update
09/07/2021:
Given the delays from Microsoft and the need to provide additional Zoom recording storage, IITS is reconsidering the decision to end our use of MediaSite. This project remains on hold and more information will be posted in the future.
12/15/2020:
As Microsoft is in the process releasing a major update to Stream including the user interact and file storage, the project is holding pending the release of this updated service in 2021. IITS will continue to support MediaSite through FY 21/22.
09/29/2020:
Initiation of project with Library Media Library staff to evaluate moving current MediaSite content to MS Stream.
